Dear Cathedral Family,
This Sunday we will begin worshipping in the Chapter House while interior work happens in the nave. Please enter through the garden gates and directly into the Chapter House. Ushers will be on the front sidewalk and at the terrace doors to assist you and to hand you a bulletin. Otherwise, we will worship together as we usually do on the Lord’s Day and then enjoy a time of fellowship together in the servery and the Chapter House vestibule.
I am thankful for the hard work of Cathedral staff and volunteers this week in creating our worship space in a new place. And I am especially thankful that we are able to remain on campus and worship in our spaces throughout construction and repair work, thanks to the care and coordination of Cathedral leadership and the team at Rogers & Willard.
This place is the home we share with the generations, both before and after those of us together here now. Much more than this, it is the place from which we reach out to encounter the world in Christ’s name. In gospel readings this week and last, Jesus teaches his followers about this “field of the world” and the new life of kindness and mercy that the “children of the kingdom” spread.
I hope that as many of you as are able will come to be part of our life together in this place—and in our mission in the world.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
