Dear Cathedral Family,
“Tell out, my soul”—our stewardship theme for 2026—will continue this Sunday. We will sing the hymn at the procession in, with its concluding verse expressing our Christian hope in this season: “Firm is his promise, and his mercy sure. Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord to children’s children and for evermore!” We trust God’s promise to be with us always; we are confident that his mercy will help and heal us; and we commit our children’s future to his loving care.
Our children will sing on the steps this Sunday when they return from Children’s Chapel, and then we will hear from our giving chairs for 2026, Terri and Richard Gaal. Next week, you will be receiving a letter and pledge card from them in the mail—and you will be able to find all videos, information, and giving resources on the stewardship page of our website.
This week our prayers are especially focused on Wilmer Hall, following the tragic events of this week. Residents and staff are receiving excellent care, and all of their material needs are being met. What is most deeply needed is your prayer—for healing, wholeness, and continued faithfulness in mission, what our bishop has called their “gospel work.” You may read the statement from Executive Director Pratt Paterson and Bishop Russell Kendrick here.
God’s great care and mercy have been with us in this community for over 200 years, and we trust in the steadfastness of his love.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
