Dear Cathedral Family,
This has been an extraordinary week! The historic winter storm “Enzo” upended our lives, bringing delight—especially for the children—along with some challenges and adjustments. I pray that all is well with your homes and families as we begin to thaw out and return to normal routines.
The cathedral buildings fared well, with no burst pipes or failed equipment. We cancelled several midweek events, but the business of our shared life continued as your vestry met via Zoom on Wednesday evening and staff worked remotely to accomplish their usual tasks.
We will be ready to return to our usual schedule of events beginning Saturday with the Pastoral Care Workshop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The new Vestry Class of 2027 will be installed during worship on Sunday. Our annual Parish Meeting will take place following worship; we will recognize the retiring Vestry Class of 2024, review the 2024 budget year and share information about the 2025 budget and plans for the year ahead.
With the long-awaited resolution of our Terminix damage claim, 2025 will see the accomplishment of necessary repairs and the beginnings of several other long-deferred projects around the campus. Amid that activity, we will be carrying on and growing our service ministries to the community around us, as well as our worship and formation programs.
I look forward to serving with you in the year ahead.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
