Dear Cathedral Family,
Last week’s Rally Day was a wonderful time of reconnection and new beginnings as we moved from summer mode into the fall beginnings of the program year. It did our hearts good to be together in worship, to share a fabulous meal, and to engage ourselves in opportunities for formation and service. I am truly thankful for the loving hands and smiling faces that made the day so bright.
This Sunday, Sunday School for children and EYC and Fun Club for youth will begin in earnest. I look forward to spending some time with our younger children on Sunday morning, and our youth will enjoy their first outing of the year in the afternoon. The Dean’s Bible Study for adults will begin next Wednesday at noon, both in person in the chapel and via Zoom. Look for the email next week containing the schedule and the link. Wednesday evening worship at 5:15 p.m. resumed last week. In all these things, it is a joy to be together as we grow closer to God and to one another, and as we listen for God’s call to tangible, loving service to the world.
In the gospel reading this Sunday, Jesus emphasizes God’s constant, loving seeking of us, each one precious to the wholeness of God’s kingdom. In our life together we can feel this energy of God drawing us into loving bonds as the Cathedral Family. I am thankful for each one of you, and I look forward to being with you in this new season of life together.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
