Dear Cathedral Family,
The first Sunday after Labor Day is traditionally our “welcome back home” Sunday, when the new program year begins, and we return to our regular schedule of worship, formation, and service. We still call it by its traditional name: Rally Day.
We will continue that pattern this Sunday, and you will find in this email a listing of the opportunities and schedules that will fill the months ahead. During hospitality time in the Chapter House following worship, you will find schedules and sign-ups for many of our ministries. And you will find Sunday Brunch! Al Chow and Terri Gaal and their great team will cook and serve some of your favorites—shrimp and grits, bacon and sausage, along with fruit and extra trimmings—available to share together here or to carry home.
During worship, the Cathedral Children will sing and share with you some of what they have learned during their time with Miles Garver this summer. Our readings will challenge us to recall and be faithful to our primary identity found in our shared life in Christ, as his Body. Our music will join our many and varied voices in unified song that expresses our faith and our hope.
My hope is that many of you will be present this Sunday as we gather for a new year of life together as the Cathedral Family.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
