Rally Day

Dear Cathedral Family,

Rally: (vt) to muster for a common purpose; to recall to order; to arouse for action; to rouse from weakness; (vi) to come together again to renew an effort; to join in a common cause.

The “Rally Day” that begins the new program year in the life of the church is an “evergreen” concept: it will always be valid, because we will always be beginning again. This Sunday we will begin again, renewing our efforts as followers of Jesus in community together. The summer time of sun and space and growth is turning to the harvest time of gathering in and offering up the gifts.

In this email you will find lots of information about ministries and opportunities for all ages to worship, learn, serve, and enjoy being together. On Sunday at announcement time, you will hear from Mary Lynn Cooper about the newly reorganized Youth Advisory Council and its schedule for the fall. During hospitality time, you can visit tables in the Chapter House where representatives of many ministries can answer questions and share how to be part of their work.

I am overwhelmingly grateful for the good work and enthusiasm so many of you have brought to planning the many parts of our life together as the Cathedral Family. And I am deeply impressed by the clarity of your common purpose in all these things: to follow Jesus in his life of love, healing, and service to those who are close to us as well as to those who are strangers.

Most of all, I am looking forward to being together with you this Sunday as we begin again in our life together.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
