Dear Cathedral Family,
This Sunday will be our Second Annual Pandemic Rally Day! While our hopes were up in June for doing Rally Day the “old” way, the reality of August and September presents us with the need to continue COVID precautions and remain flexible in our planning and hybrid in access to our program offerings.
This week our bishop asked that we continue to wear masks at all indoor gatherings through September 20, when we will evaluate again what the prevailing situation necessitates. All of our worship, Bible study, and small groups will continue to have a Zoom option, and as we move into cooler weather in the fall, we will schedule more outdoor activities for all ages.
Rally Day goes on nonetheless, and you should receive an email with more information about programs and opportunities. All of this information, along with sign-up access is also located on the landing page of our website. What you see now is not all there will be: information about musical programs, additional activities for children and youth and their families, and more will continue to roll out as the fall progresses. So please stay in touch by checking your email and visiting our website.
Al Chow and his team of cooks will be in the kitchen this Sunday preparing a Rally Day take-out brunch, the proceeds of which will go to support the vital ministry of Feeding the Gulf Coast. Peter Wood will be adding the joy of his trumpet playing to our music in worship. We will be fed from the Lord’s Table. And in it all, we will remember that we are followers of Jesus, giving up the lives we have known in order to have the abundant life that he offers.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
