Dear Cathedral Family,
Graduation season is upon us, and this Sunday we will celebrate and pray for our graduates in the Cathedral Family. This will be our annual Senior and Youth Sunday, when our young people assume their roles as ministers and leaders in our worship. We have watched them grow up before our eyes, and the joy and the hope that they inspire in us is one of the greatest gifts of our life together. I know that you will all be praying for them as they launch themselves into a wider world; this is our Sunday to let them know that and to remind them that we will always be their home.
Following worship, our youth will be traveling to a fun afternoon at the new pool opening and dedication at Beckwith Camp and Conference Center. For those of you who remain in town, I hope that you will join us for the final concert of this year’s musical season at 5 p.m. Joel Gregory, organist and choirmaster at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Montgomery will offer a wonderful recital, followed light refreshments.
Last Sunday’s Cathedral Celebration was a joyous day of welcoming our newest confirmands and spending time with our bishop. Not only was this a wonderful time of fellowship together, but it was also a reminder of our role as the Cathedral Church of our diocese. On Saturday, May 2, we will step into that role as we host the ordination of three new deacons for our diocese. We still need volunteers to help with hospitality and as greeters for the day. Please sign up on the ministry table in the Chapter House or online here.
We have much to be thankful for in the Cathedral Family, and these spring Sundays are beautiful reminders of all God’s blessings on our life together.
Faithfully,
Beverly+
