Communion We Share

Dear Cathedral Family,

This is a HUGE “THANK YOU” to all the members of the Cathedral Family who made last Sunday’s All Saints’ Celebration such a glorious day! All the good work around this special day in our life together was a loving demonstration of the communion we share now in this time and through all the ages.

Our outstanding oyster cooks were organized by Deacon Pratt Paterson, and they outdid themselves: Weathers Bolt, Al Chow, Lewis Golden, Kyle Wall, and Jay Watkins. Vestry servers did a great job of passing these around to everyone. All of the hospitality teams were coordinated by Janet Rich Pittman to offer a bounteous plenty of other dishes. Beverages were served with good humor by Ginny Behlen and Mike Gibson. Fun in Mardi Gras Park for our children was supervised by all our parents and by Sunday School staff member Julia Pope, with inflatables overseen by Lewis Golden. Fabulous flowers were everywhere, arranged with love and great style by the whole flower guild, led by Saylor Wiley. All the glorious music for the day was led by the Cathedral Choir, under the leadership of Dr. Joshua Coble.

And an especially important tandem activity was carried out during our celebration time by our young people in EYC and Fun Club, along with adult helpers, led by Lissa Watkins and Leigh Rendfrey: packing a roomful of grocery bags for sharing during this season with our neighbors who may be experiencing food insecurity.

You will find information in this email about how you can help with Deacon Terry Goff’s Clothesline Ministry as the temperatures grow cooler. We will also soon begin our annual coat drive for the young people served by Wilmer Hall’s school tutoring program.

All Saints’ Sunday marks a turning point in the year, as we move swiftly now toward Thanksgiving, Advent, and the Christmas season. We will be concluding our stewardship campaign for 2026, electing and installing new vestry members, and wrapping up the ministries of 2025 in our life together.

I am thankful for all of you, for the gifts you share with the Cathedral Family and our whole community, and for the hope that lives in our communion.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
