Christmas is Coming!

Dear Cathedral Family,

The Fourth Sunday of Advent this year is very close to Christmas, although not as close as it could be. Do you remember the years that Christmas Eve fell on Sunday? That was the Fourth Sunday of Advent! This year Four Advent gets a whole day, and we will gather again on Tuesday for Christmas Eve services at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. There will also be a 10 a.m. service on Wednesday, Christmas Day.

All the coats for local students and Angel Tree gifts for Wilmer Hall have been delivered. Thanks to all of you who shared with others so that there could be abundance for all in this season.

We now enter the final days of preparation before we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. Cathedral staff members are working to confirm lay ministers, ushers, etc. for all services between now and January 5, as our last full workday before the Christmas break will be Monday, December 23. Cathedral offices will reopen on Monday, January 6, 2025. During that break, our finance offices will be checking messages as we approach year-end. Clergy will be on call for pastoral emergencies, as well.

As we come to the turning point of the year, may you walk in the light and love of Christ that scatters the darkness of the world.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
