Challenging Times

Dear Cathedral Family,

As the effects of Hurricane Ida continue to compound in southern Louisiana and Mississippi, response and relief efforts are underway. We know from past experience that the best way we can be helpful to our neighbors at this point in time is to pray for those in need and those responding and to support those agencies that have the capacity to be at work on the ground right now. In this email and on our website you will find information about how to help through contributing to our diocesan hurricane relief fund and to Episcopal Relief and Development.

Many evacuees from the hurricane continue to shelter in our area, and they will continue to need our hospitality for some time. Feeding the Gulf Coast is one local agency that has many ways to be of help to them and to others experiencing food insecurity for various reasons. Our Rally Day Outreach Breakfast this year will be raising funds to support this vital ministry. You can learn more about them through this link and on our website.

Next week you will receive much more information about ministry opportunities and plans for the fall. New ministries continue to emerge through the good work of The Rev. Eric Zubler and Organist/Choirmaster Elizabeth Bemis, and you will learn more about their plans. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for small groups and other ministries.

I hope that this Labor Day weekend will be a time of rest and renewal for you all before resuming fall activities—school, sports, family, and work—as we all continue to move forward in faithful living through challenging times.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
