Dear Cathedral Family,
The beginnings of this new year bring transition in your vestry leadership, and we will mark those changes and pray for our leaders this Sunday, both in worship and in the annual parish meeting following in the chapter house. During worship we will pray for and install the new vestry class of 2028: Preston Bolt, Mary Hunter Fuller, Lance Lucas, Bill Skinner, Haley Van Antwerp, and Saylor Wiley. In our meeting we will give thanks for the excellent leadership of Bob Israel as Senior Warden, Lewis Golden as Junior Warden for Buildings and Grounds, and for other members of the vestry class of 2025—Molly Bolt, Tony Brown, Richard Gaal, and Tray Hamil.
Also in the annual meeting, you will hear from Terri Gaal, as stewardship co-chair, in her final report on your faithful response to our stewardship campaign for 2026. Junior Warden for Finance, Rick Mitchell will report on our successful year-end financial fulfillment for 2025, along with the projected budget for 2026 that was approved by your vestry this week.
I am pleased and thankful to report that Lewis Golden has generously agreed to continue serving as chair of our building committee for the duration of the ongoing termite and water damage repair process. He will give you a report and answer your questions about what lies ahead in the repair process for our campus in 2026. I know you will want to hear what he has to say.
The year ahead is shaping up to be an exciting and forward moving one, as we begin work on a number of projects that have been long pending in our life together. I was deeply impressed in this week’s vestry meeting with the tremendous gifts your vestry brings to their leadership of Christ Church. Your trust in their abilities and care is well placed, and we can all look forward to good things in the year ahead.
Looking forward to Sunday,
Faithfully,
Beverly+
