A Rally Day Message from the Dean

Dear Cathedral Family,

Even in an ongoing pandemic, Rally Day happens and the new program year begins. The life of the Church goes on—in faith, hope, and love. As we move forward in our ministries within the present reality, our guiding principle is flexibility. We have learned over the past program year that we can continue worship, formation, service, and pastoral care even when we cannot safely gather in large groups or engage in some of our accustomed activities. We do this by praying for the grace to be flexible and adaptive. And we give thanks for unexpected gifts.

You will find here lots of information about small groups of many kinds and opportunities to worship, learn, and serve. You may click on the links to show your interest by using Signup Genius. All the information and sign-up opportunities in this email may be easily accessed on the landing page of our website. I encourage you to bookmark our site or add it to your favorites so that you can easily check events, locate streaming links, open or print bulletins and much more. If you know someone who is not getting email from Christ Church Cathedral, please encourage them to go to our website.

You will notice that our scheduling concentrates on the time between now and the end of 2021, in hope that 2022 may allow us to gather more freely and engage in some of the activities we miss. We have tried to make all offerings compliant with safety protocols as well as accessible both in person and remotely.

Please be sure to keep in touch, as we will be communicating more as the fall goes on about opportunities for safe and fun outdoor gatherings, special services, and more. Even though sometimes it is easy to feel discouraged, I continue to give thanks every day for the loving kindness and faithfulness of the Cathedral Family. Together, we continue to be the Church.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
