Thanksgiving 2019

This year my heart has been filled with thankfulness and wonder: for God’s boundless mercies in every moment of our lives, for the love of Christ that lives in this congregation, and for the promise of new life and ministry that we share together.

On a personal level, the miracle of my husband Mike’s transplant six months ago and the outpouring of love, prayer, and support from you all has overwhelmed our family. Our gratitude is impossible to express, as is our love for you and our joy at continued life and ministry with you in this sacred place. We are indeed called in one body, in which the peace of Christ dwells.

I am thankful for the amazing work that has been carried forward in our life together as the Cathedral Family: for the leadership and ministry of our adult and children/youth program teams, our Baptized for Life team, our Vestry, and our many and active lay ministries. As I shared with you in my message at the beginning of the program year in September, we are embarked upon a season of new and deeper growth, as we begin to live into the opportunities of our newly renovated spaces for ministry and to engage more intentionally in the deepening of our spiritual life.

Finally, I am thankful for our mission in the downtown Mobile community. This year's Thanksgiving Day service is one opportunity we have to open our doors to share our tradition and historic sacred place with others. I hope that many of you will be able to take time in the day's celebrations to join together in prayer and thanksgiving and that you will invite others to join us. May the blessings of this season abound in your lives, as together we give thanks for all God has given us.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
