FUN CLUB
ELEMENTARY CLASS
FOR CHILDREN GRADES 3, 4, 5
At Christ Church Cathedral we respect and nurture each child’s innate spirituality and understanding of God’s profound love for them, tailoring experiences in worship, education, and fellowship to the individual developmental needs of the child. Formation of the child begins before birth, and continues throughout a child’s life. It is our role as their faith community to help support and be with our children along the way.

REGISTRATION FOR 2019-2020 SUNDAY SCHOOL AND EVENTS
Parents are asked to register their children if they will take part in any of our offerings (not just Sunday School). This helps the children's and youth team plan well, and provides the information our staff and volunteers need to be responsive to your child. Here is the link to registration.

FUN CLUB SUNDAY SCHOOL // SUNDAYS FROM 9:00-9:45 AM
The 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Sunday School class uses a curriculum called Spark Activate Faith designed specifically for this age group. The curriculum is based on the three-year lectionary so that Sunday School lessons connect children with Bible stories heard in worship. Hands-on activities, interactive games and creative crafts are part of the curriculum.
FUN CLUB EVENTS
A monthly youth group for children in grades 3, 4 and 5 to go on outings together to build relationships that will grow with them.
EVENTS 2019-2020
Some events require an additional event-specific registration:
-

-

-

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
Each Sunday during the 10:00 a.m. service children ages 3 to grade 3 may attend Children's Chapel. After the opening hymn children are invited to follow their crucifer to the chapel for an age-appropriate worship. Worship that follows the same pattern as adult worship is lead by trained adults who are assisted by parents and youth volunteers. The children return to church at the time of the peace.

WORSHIP READINESS (GRADE 3)
Worship Readiness is a milestone class that helps children and their families transition the children from attending Children's Chapel into the Sunday morning worship service. The class is for 3rd graders in their last 4 weeks of Children’s Chapel. The children learn different parts of the service focusing on their participation. The class takes place during Children's Chapel time in weeks 2 through 5 of Lent. After the last class ends the children are recognized when they return to worship.

ACOLYTES
Children beginning in grade 4 are invited to serve as torch bearers. Torch bearers have many duties during the service. Attendance at Acolyte Training in the fall is required for children who wish to serve.
If you would like to serve on an acolyte team, sign up here or contact Carolyn Jeffers.
