Summer at the Cathedral

Although the pace is different in the summer, the church does not go on vacation!

Summer at Christ Church Cathedral

Think that the church goes on vacation in the summer?  Not at Christ Church Cathedral!  While the pace is certainly different, and our Sunday schedule changes a bit, there is still plenty of life during the summer months.

Worship schedule (May 29 through September 2)
Changes to the Sunday schedule include a break for the Sunday school (it returns in September), and the Wednesday noon Eucharist is on hiatus.

Office hours
Except for Memorial Day, the week of Independence Day, and Labor Day, the office remains open all summer, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; 251.438.1822.

And summer is a time for some special summer-only offerings, including:

  • A Cathedral Read selection by the Dean.  Information on the Dean's Read coming soon.

  • Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Monday, June 27 through Wednesday, June 29 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Want to help?
We are planning outreach opportunities in the summer, as well. Please contact Carolyn Jeffers in the Cathedral office to learn more.

Going away this summer?
Will you be away from home and Christ Church Cathedral this summer? We encourage you to worship wherever you are traveling. Each Thursday we will post links on the Welcome page to our live stream of Sunday worship as well as the service bulletin.   You can also listen to sermons preached at the 10:00 a.m. service, on our Web site. Our audio ministry is a wonderful resource not only for those who are traveling, but also for those who are homebound. We know some folks spend significant parts of the summer elsewhere, either at the river, or the beach, or simply taking a week or away for a family vacation.

  • Follow us on Facebook and Instagram

  • Subscribe to the weekly bulletin with all the latest news by signing up at the bottom of this page.

  • Join us live on Sunday morning or watch the service later in the day.  Listen to Sunday morning sermons online.

Please remember to keep your pledge to Christ Church Cathedral up to date over the summer; even when you're not here, the church must stay current with its expenses.
