God's generosity
Last Friday night, September 25, was a beautiful time at Beckwith! Many, many thanks to those of you who cooked and hosted and served at dinner and beyond—and to those of you who came and brought your families to enjoy a wonderful weekend in “God’s backyard” at our diocesan camp and conference center.
The blessings of fall weather and joy in God’s creation continue this weekend, as we will gather in the cathedral courtyard at 4 p.m. for the annual “Blessing of the Animals” in honor of St. Francis Day. Sabrina Evans will have an activity for the children, and there will be treats for our animal companions. This is always a joyful time to give thanks for the gifts our non-human family members bring to our lives. Invite friends and neighbors, too, to share the love.
This week’s “Harvest Moon” was a reminder of God’s generosity to us in our life together. It makes sense, then, that the harvest time is when our annual stewardship season begins. Be on the lookout for the announcement of this year’s theme and leadership in the weeks ahead.
Enjoy these first tastes of fall, and don’t forget to bless the Lord for His goodness in your life and to ask for grace to be a blessing to others.
