Our Children's and Youth (CY) Team have been intentional in structuring how we celebrate the milestones in our children's lives within the Cathedral family. Some of the milestones are new and others have been given guidelines so that we are present for our children and young families as they grow.

The purpose of this milestone is to allow the church to be involved in a helpful and significant way in the life of a family and a newborn from the announcement of the pregnancy through the child’s baptism.
The purpose of the Worship Readiness milestone is to help children in grade 3 and their families transition the children into the Sunday morning worship service in helpful and meaningful ways that will provide children and families with the tools they need to integrate into the worship service fully.
The purpose of this milestone is to engage the 8th graders in the life of the parish in the process of confirmation classes that will ultimately end in the confirmation of the 8th graders on confirmation Sunday when the Bishop has his annual Parochial visit.

This year all students in grades 7 and up are invited to join the confirmation class to either lead to confirmation or to learn more about The Episcopal Church. The confirmation class will meet weekly, one way or another, throughout the fall using the curriculum I Will with God’s Help, a program based on the Baptismal Covenant. Confirmation is planned for April 2021.
To register, please contact Carolyn Jeffers.
The purpose of this milestone is to celebrate and appropriately send off the graduating high school seniors from Christ Church Cathedral.
Over the next few months the CY Team will communicate each milestone individually. The first will be worship readiness for our children in grades 4 and up who have not been confirmed. The class will meet on Sundays, November 10 and 17 at 9:00am in the Chapel. Dean Beverly Gibson will teach. She will talk with the children about worship and she will teach them about communion. The November class will get us "caught up" so that each year, beginning in Lent 2020, children in grade 3 will be given the same class as a way to "graduate" from Children's Chapel.

Adults who are new to the Episcopal Church (or new to Christianity) may wish to attend the Inquirers Class, which may lead to their wishing to be baptized or confirmed. The Inquirer's Class is lead by Dean Gibson. If you are interested please contact Carolyn Jeffers (251.438.1822)
Youth Confirmation Class: Christ Church Cathedral confirms youth in grade 8. The curriculum is I Will With God's Help. The next class will begin in the fall of 2020. Let Carolyn Jeffers (251.438.1822) know if you have a youth who would like to join the class.
