Christian Formation
Children's Formation

This fall children and youth will once again be welcomed back to the Christ Church Cathedral Sunday School, located upstairs above the Chapter House.

Beginning this year, students of our Sunday School will be immersing themselves in a new model of Christian Formation called the Workshop Rotational Method.  Each month a new story or character from the New Testament will be introduced with four to five “workshops” or “stations.”  The workshop will teach the story through hands-on learning, as one age group does an art activity, another does a science or cooking activity, another participates in acting out the story, another watches a video or other technology-based activity.

This curriculum works very well across the grade levels and enables students to immerse themselves deeper in the meaning, context, and setting of the story being taught over a four- to five-week period.

All safety cautions will be observed as our children once again gather and get to know one another after a two year hiatus from Sunday School due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sunday School Refresh

We are preparing to reopen the Sunday School rooms for our return to Sunday School—when it is safe.  We need artists to paint murals, movers to place furniture, and housekeepers to clean, and many others to help us get the space ready to welcome our children and youth back upstairs.  We need to get to work to have the best facility possible for our youngest members, when they return to indoor activities.
