Columbarium
Enrollment continues for the Courtyard Columbarium, Phase I. Your check for $3500 made payable to Christ Church Cathedral with the notation, Columbarium—Phase I will reserve your niche. Construction will begin when 35 niches have been purchased.
Each niche holds two sets of cremains. A courtyard columbarium has been designed to meet the needs of our Cathedral family. Located in the garden area between the Office/Rectory and the Brantley/Huger Houses on Conception Street. A fountain and benches will create peaceful space for family and friends. We envision it as a place for quiet and reflection, where loved ones can gather for prayer and remembrance.

Details
Contracts, to be drafted by the Chancellor, will be signed by those purchasing space before construction
begins. Preliminary plans and drawings have been prepared by Barganier, Davis, Sims
Architects.
A construction bid from Radcliff Contractors shows that the cost of Phase I construction will be $120,000. The bid
includes site preparation, pavers, landscaping, benches, fountain and the columbarium wall containing 57 double
niches.
Additional plans call for interior columbarium cabinets in the southwest corner of the Chapel. Architectural plans
have been requested. That plan can be included in the future Chapel restoration project.
